Moisture Meter Readings

Moisture Meter Readings
Moisture Readings

Plumbers use moisture meters to identify potential leaks and damage caused by moisture. Different building materials have unique moisture readings. Variations in those readings let the plumber know the area where a problem exists.

All of our personnel are trained and certified to use the most advanced water detection devices. We always use non-penetrating meters whenever possible. This reduces the damage to your home. When penetrating meters are needed for accuracy, we do so. We also supplement the meters with thermal imaging cameras when needed for accurate measurements.

How Moisture Meters Are Used

Finding the source of moisture in your home is urgent. The longer it takes to identify the source, the more damage it causes. The damage from any leak can cause extensive damage to the structure and to your belongings. There’s also the issue of water waste and expensive water bills.

Some leaks are easy to spot and repair. A leaking faucet or shower head isn’t hidden behind your walls. Sometimes, leaks occur out of sight. Moisture can continue to collect for a long time before you see the first signs of damage. Even when the first signs appear, the source might be some distance away.

Testing for Moisture in Various Building Materials

It takes a high degree of professional knowledge to test all types of building materials. Drywall isn’t the only material where moisture can occur. Masonry materials, including brick and concrete, don’t absorb as much moisture as some materials. Our personnel knows how to test all of these building materials accurately and the right type of meter to use.

Walls that have loose insulation also present a challenge. The insulation can hold moisture inside where you don’t see it. At the same time, it creates a host for mold to grow. If left undetected, the moisture and mold can cause serious damage. We know how to get accurate moisture readings for insulated walls. This is one example of how undetected moisture can become a serious problem.

What to Look for in a Plumber For Moisture Meter Reading

The best plumber for any job has the right tools. They also have well-trained personnel who knows how to use it. A plumber’s goal should be the same as yours. They should work to prevent growing damage to your home. The sooner and more efficiently they do their job, the more affordable their services will be.

We offer all of these advantages and more. Contact us today to evaluate your plumbing problems. We’ll use expert moisture readings to diagnose the source of your plumbing problems with as little damage as possible.
