The Problem
“Pinhole leaks were popping up all over,” says Katherine Reis, manager of the Louisiana Street Apartments in San Diego’s Midtown area. The 24-unit complex was built in the 1970s. In the past five years numerous slab and wall leaks had occurred. Locating and fixing the leaks and repairing the damage had been time-consuming, intrusive and expensive.
“We decided we had to replace all the pipes or find out if there might be another solution,” recalls Reis. “We heard about lining the pipes with epoxy, and chose Water Epoxy after considering one other company.”

The Solution
San Diego Plumbing and Pipelining’s Water Epoxy applied its exclusive “stop leak” formula to solve the problems at the Louisiana Street Apartments. San Diego Plumbing and Pipelining’s technicians performed a diagnostic review of the water delivery system, completed a valve system upgrade, and then cleaned the interior of the pipes with a pressurized abrasive airflow, removing hard water deposits, scale and corrosion.
Next, the San Diego Plumbing and Pipelining’s team applied a tough epoxy lining (Water Epoxy)– literally a corrosion-resistant “pipe within a pipe.” The exclusive Water Epoxy lining hardens in 45 minutes and allows full restoration of water service in as little as 5 hours. All without the inconvenience of the major demolition of walls and floors, repair work and lengthy cleanup work that Reis’ tenants had experienced.
“San Diego Plumbing and Pipelining’s Water Epoxy did a wonderful job,” Reis said. “Their workers were good with our tenants, kept them informed and did not interfere much.”
