SDR Plastic Drainage Pipes
Standard Dimension Ratio (SDR) plastic drainage pipelining comes in various geometrics for different uses. The ratio refers to that of the nominal outside diameter in comparison to the nominal wall thickness. The higher the SDR, the thinner the wall of a pipe is.
Trenchless Pipelining
We also use a variety of techniques to repair the damaged pipes that will save you money. One of the best is using trenchless pipelining. This method requires no digging or excavation. Instead, we use a hydro jetter machine and/or pipe drain snake machine or abrasive honing brushes to clean the existing pipe. This allows us to remove all of the buildup inside the pipes while accessing them from outside.
Next, we insert a video camera into the pipe to examine the entire length and the connections where water enters. This process provides us with a measurement to prepare a pipelining. Finally, we install the lining inside the pipe. There’s a temporary balloon inside that places pressure on the lining while the self-hardening epoxy hardens. After the liner is cured, we remove the balloon, leaving a solid liner inside the existing pipe.
Other methods for restoring damaged piping include pipe bursting and traditional approaches such as digging through the floor. Pipe bursting requires a conical metal head that is pulled through the existing pipe with a winch. A plastic pipe is attached to the back of the head so that it pulls the pipe through the old pipe as it progresses. A number of complications make pipe bursting a less desirable method. It destroys the incoming pipe connections, so they must be replaced by excavating them through the floors.
Additionally, each “Tee” or “Elbow” must be dug up and exposed separately. The process is also problematic when the soil is too hard for the bursting head to pass through.
The problems with traditional digging through the floor methods are obvious. It takes the longest to complete this process, also making it the most expensive. The soil and concrete must be dug up and the area is left open during the weeks while you wait for it to cure.
